Welcome
Clean And Renewable Energy (CARE) for America is an organization uniquely dedicated to bringing people together to solve seemingly unsolvable environmental threats.
The Facts
Over 6,000 million metric tons of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas linked to global warming, is emitted in to the atmosphere each year. Nearly two-thirds of those emissions come from two sources: fossil-fuel power plants and motor vehicles.
Over 70% of our nation's electricity is generated from fossil-fuels; according to the United States Department of Energy, that percentage will hold for decades into the future.
The United States is the most abundant source of coal - it possesses over 250 years worth of reserves and over 25% of the world's supply.
At present, the ability to capture carbon dioxide from emissions sources is scientifically but not economically feasible. Investment in cutting-edge research and education can pave the way for commercially viable solutions, ultimately eliminating our dependence on foreign energy sources, reducing our trade deficit, creating millions of new domestic jobs and, most importantly, ensuring environmental safety for us, our children and the generations that follow.
